1. Who can be tested?
We are doing rapid viral antigen testing for ALL patients, even if you don’t have symptoms. This is a rapid nasal test that will tell you in 10-15 minutes if you are currently infected with COVID-19. If you would like a different type of test (like an antibody test), you can request one. The antibody test is sent to a lab and not done in-house, so results are not immediate.
2. Can I just visit for a COVID test?
Yes. We have a separate asymptomatic COVID testing check-in process.
3. I don’t have insurance. Can I still be tested?
Yes.
4. Do I need to make an appointment?
No. Family Medical Center ONLY takes walk-ins.
5. What do I do if my results are positive for COVID-19?
You will be required to self-quarantine and limit contact with others for 10 days. Further treatment and medication options will be provided at time of results. We can also provide a quarantine letter to your employer at no charge.
6. What if I am healthy? Can I still come to Family Medical Center?
Yes. Family Medical Center separates healthy and sick people in the waiting room to limit exposure and potential spread of airborne illness. Some patients choose to wait outside. Family Medical Center has top of the line HEPA filtration systems throughout the building, including waiting rooms, to minimize the spread of airborne illnesses.
7. Are you a drive-thru testing center?
No. However, you do not need an appointment and are welcome to call (770) 228-2641 to check the current estimated wait times.
