Kholi Smith Whelan is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Kholi was born and raised here in Griffin, Ga. She attended Griffin High School and left to pursue a career in medicine. She studied Biology at the University of Georgia, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Kennesaw State University. As a registered nurse, she worked in the field of cardiology at Northside Hospital, where she found a love for educating her patients and their families on heart healthy living, blood pressure management and what life looks like after heart attacks and stroke. She served her unit, teaching heart school education to newly diagnosed heart failure and coronary artery disease patients.
After years in that practice, she knew it would suit her better to have patients of her own, so she pursued higher education. She graduated with her Master’s in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018. She is now living back in Griffin serving people in her community. She loves being back in her hometown where she can spend her time with her husband, family, and friends.
